Root Cause Wellness is a monthly functional medicine membership for women who have completed the Clarity Consult and want continued support to identify and correct those underlying imbalances.

Together, we’ll go beyond symptom management to uncover what’s driving your fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, and hormone shifts—then apply a personalized plan to help you feel truly well again.

This ongoing partnership provides consistent follow-up visits, personalized adjustments, and accountability to help you maintain balance, optimize vitality, and sustain long-term results.

Note: This membership does not include labs. Functional testing can be added anytime to guide your care

What’s Included

  • Monthly functional medicine visit (virtual) with Jen Piermarini, FNP-C

  • Targeted protocol updates each month focused on nutrition, supplementation, gut and hormone balance, and lifestyle optimization

  • Secure portal messaging for non-urgent questions between visits

Optional Functional Testing (ordered as needed)

When deeper data is needed to reveal what’s driving persistent symptoms, you’ll have access to advanced testing options, including:

​

  • Comprehensive Gut Health Testing — identifies microbiome imbalances, digestive issues, and inflammation

  • Micronutrient Testing — evaluates vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant deficiencies impacting energy and metabolism

  • Food Sensitivity Testing — detects potential triggers contributing to inflammation, bloating, and fatigue

  • Organic Acids Test (OAT) — offers insight into metabolism, detoxification, mitochondrial health, and gut function

  • DUTCH Hormone Testing — provides a detailed analysis of sex hormones, cortisol patterns, and adrenal function to guide individualized hormone optimization​

Testing is billed separately. Standard bloodwork may be ordered through Quest Diagnostics (billed to insurance when applicable); specialty kits are typically cash-pay.

As part of Root Cause Wellness, GLP-1 medications may be incorporated when clinically appropriate to support metabolic health and sustainable weight loss. These medications are never prescribed in isolation and are always paired with a comprehensive functional medicine approach.

 

When GLP-1 therapy is used, your care includes:

  • Nutrition guidance focused on adequate protein and metabolic support

  • Ongoing evaluation of hormones, gut health, and nutrient status

  • Regular monitoring for safety, tolerance, and effectiveness

  • Use of the lowest effective dose to support long-term success

 

Important medication information:

  • GLP-1 medications are prescribed through a compounding pharmacy

  • Medication costs are billed separately and are not included in the Root Cause Wellness membership fee

  • Compounded GLP-1 medications are not covered by insurance

  • Medication fees are paid to Intricate Wellness Solutions, and the medication is shipped directly to your home

GLP-1 therapy is optional and individualized. Not every patient needs medication, and the decision to prescribe is based on your labs, symptoms, and goals—not a number on the scale.

Do I need to complete the Clarity Consult first?
Yes. The Clarity Consult serves as your comprehensive intake, including your initial lab review and baseline data, before joining Root Cause Wellness.

Can I add labs later?
Absolutely. Functional testing—including DUTCH, gut, micronutrient, food sensitivity, and OAT—can be ordered at any time.

Is this program virtual?

Yes. All appointments are conducted virtually for your convenience.

 

Does this include hormone replacement therapy?
No. BHRT is provided only through Revitalize & Thrive and maintained through Ongoing Hormone Support for program graduates.
